Russian Educational Outreach Project
Russia is a country that has an important need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. An emerging democracy, Russia is suffering great transitional growing pains especially in the areas of morals and ethics. The “good news” of Jesus Christ is then a message that the Russian people must hear. Russian believers are certainly more adept at evangelizing Russians than are Americans if for no other reason than the language barrier.
Our target area has been primarily the Novgorod Region and the Udmurt regions of Russia. Throughout these regions there are a number of small, relatively new Christian churches. These churches have had minimal contact with their western Christian counterparts and are interested in fellowship with believers. They are especially eager to be trained in the areas of outreach, Bible study, small group dynamics, Spiritual gift development, men’s ministry, women’s ministry, youth ministry, and discipleship technique and development.
The Russian Educational Outreach project’s objective has been and will continue will be to travel to some of these churches and offer 2-3 days of training through seminars, small group discussion and one-on-one equipping. The purpose then is to equip Russian believers with the tools that will allow them to outreach to non-believers with confidence and knowledge and to provide them with an on going support mechanism. Therefore our effort is centered in the theme of Matthew 28: 18-20. Additionally, a prayer initiative will be instituted for each of these churches with their western counterparts.
